Black Marriage Day Houston 2011

In recognition of National Black Marriage Day 2011, AAHMI Houston will host a Black Marriage Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 26th from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM at the Sterling Life Center, Texas Southern University, 2nd Floor Tiger Room. This Black Carpet Affair is Houston’s premier event honoring African-American marriages. The event is attended by corporate sponsors, partners, community and political leaders, and the press totaling approximately 150 guests. This year’s event is filled with entertainment, seated dinner, dancing and door prizes. The highlight of this event will be a special recognition in honor of the five couples who, through their marriage, have shown the importance and benefits of a healthy marriage. The selection process included looking at how the couple’s marriage reflects a healthy marriage including communication, respect, commitment, and problem solving.
